Winchester Hall, East Wing & AnnexFrederick County, Maryland
This 53,000 SF, 4 story building is located in the historic district of Frederick,
MD. Kibart provided a complete analysis of the existing facility, documented recommendations,
and subsequent design. As prime consultant, Kibart provided Architectural, Structural,
Environmental Engineering, as well as M/E design for the phased HVAC upgrade of
the East Wing and Annex of Winchester Hall (Seat of the Frederick County Government).
The entire design was based on a phasing plan while the building was occupied. HVAC
work included the removal of existing boilers, chiller, cooling tower, pumps,
associated piping, fittings, ancillary equipment, existing air handlers, ductwork,
controls and electrical equipment. The electrical design primarily was
to support the upgrade of the building HVAC systems. In addition, multiple areas
of the East Wing and Annex were renovated including new lighting, receptacles,
voice/data/video raceways, boxes, etc. The West wing required a complete
fire alarm system replacement/upgrade. Provisions were made for future installation
of an emergency generator for life safety loads Design Features
