Baltimore International College, School of Culinary ArtsBaltimore,
MD Kibart, Inc., provided a feasibility study, preliminary and final
design, and construction phase services for the conversion of this 30,000 gsf,
1970’s building that was originally part of City High School into a facility
for the Baltimore Culinary Institute (BCI), located in Baltimore’s Little
Italy. The building required completely new mechanical, electrical, plumbing and
life safety systems. The project included seven teaching kitchens, one
large group demonstration kitchen, office, student lounge, walk-in refrigerators,
greenhouse, indoor parking, and a multi-purpose recreation area. A new
elevator core was added to the building to accommodate ADA, facilitate access
throughout the building, and create a new signature entrance to the building. |
